We aim to run a number of different groups for young people within the parishes of Chagford, Drewsteignton, Gidleigh and Throwleigh. This groups are specifically designed to create safe places for young people to come and meet their friends, relax and have fun. We are there to support, encourage and talk with young people and help them to explore various issues that are relevant to them in a chilled out environment. We want young people to be challenged so that they can, in their development, really begin to understand what they believe and value as individuals and as members of a peer group community.
In the past we have also run
Bible Study / Film Nights
The Film Nights involved a group of young people coming together to share a meal and watch a film. Afterwards, we looked at some of the themes present in the film, some of the characters or the main story itself and discussed how these things can relate to being a Christian or the teaching we find in the Bible. This time of sharing together was really important for those who attended and especially when we looked at what being a Christian actually meant for them and how they could ‘live out’ their lives of faith. The group was for anyone in Year 7 or above.
Whiddon Down Youth Group

There are no current groups running in this area. Please do get in touch if you think we should restart a group meeting in Whiddon Down Village Hall.
